How it plays

Think it through in pencil
Note the candidates as small digits, and tap the same key again to rule one out. Commit a digit and that cell's marks clear with it, and undo takes back the pencilling as well as the moves — two hundred steps of it.
A conflict you can see coming
Put a digit where it cannot go and the cells that disagree tint rather than shout. The same digit elsewhere on the board lights up separately, so you can follow one number around the grid without hunting for it.
Three hints, and you choose where
Pick the cell that has you stuck and a hint answers that one — not a square somewhere else you were not asking about. Three per puzzle, and the counter is always in view, so spending one is a decision rather than a reflex.
Sideways
Turn it, and the board turns with you.
Landscape is a different screen rather than the same one rotated: the grid takes one side and the controls the other, so both thumbs reach without the board shrinking to make room.
Levels
Four, and they mean what they say.
Difficulty is measured by the techniques a puzzle actually requires, not by how wide the grid is.
- Easy
- Four and five wide. What a cage can hold, and no further.
- Medium
- Six wide. Where a cage meets a line.
- Hard
- Seven wide. Subsets, and the digits they shut out.
- Expert
- Eight wide. Nothing left but to hold it all at once.
